Cristina Oyon is Head of Strategic Initiatives at SPRI, the Basque Business Development Agency in Spain, and Member of the Industry 2030 High Level Industrial Roundtable of the European Commission, which gives advice on the European Industrial Strategy. Marina Krotofil is an Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Senior Security Engineer at a large chemical company. Nina Hasratyan joined the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) in February 2017, where she currently works on topics related to gender inclusion, education/awareness, transportation and public services in cybersecurity. She is the operational coordinator of the Women4Cyber initiative launched by ECSO to promote the participation of women in the cybersecurity field. Previous experience includes positions at Friends of Europe, a European think tank, and the Mission of Armenia to NATO. Nina has a degree in international relations with a specialisation in security, peace and conflicts from the Free University of Brussels.

With more than 20 years of experience in Cybersecruity, Javier currently directs GMV’s positioning around Protection of Critical Infrastructures and Cybersecurity in Industrial Environments. He has previously been Director of Business Development of Security and Optimisation, CISO at Unitronics, also developing part of his professional career at SIA and CERN.
Javier has worked for the Spanish multinational company Indra during 20 years where he reached managing positions in the Cybersecurity business area. Since 2005 he has specialized in cybersecurity for electricity companies and governmental organizations carrying out strategic advisory on Cybersecurity and managing large, complex technological projects for a variety of organizations. He has also collaborated with the Spanish Ministry of the Interior for Critical Infrastructure Protection.
At present, Javier holds the position of Director of the Basque Cybersecurity Centre. He was hired by the Government of the Basque Country in September 2017 to create the Centre from the scratch. Amongst other objectives, the Centre provides CERT services for the Basque Country, collaborates with the regional police, promotes industrial cybersecurity research and innovation, fosters the creation of start-ups and cooperates with educational entities to develop academic programmes that include cybersecurity skills. In other words, the objective is to create a Cybersecurity aware society and to position the Basque Country as a referent in this field.

Iñigo Arizaga graduated with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 1989. In October of that same year, he began working as Associate Researcher and Project Director at the Telecommunications Technology Centre TELETEK. After the merger of TELETEK with the ROBOTIKER foundation, he worked until 1997 as the Senior Researcher and Project Director in the Department of Telecommunication and Electronics Teams at this centre.
This year, he moved to direct the Radiocommunication Group within the Department of Telecommunication Technologies. From 2001 and 2010, he was the Scientific Director of the Wireless Technologies Unit and taught Communications Electronics in the ESIDE Department at the University of Deusto from 2002-2005. Between June 2010 and January 2012, he directed the Telecommunications Unit within the ICT Division of TECNALIA. Since January 2012, he has been the Director of Technology in the ICT Division.
José R. Juárez-Rodríguez, graduated with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 2004 from the University of the Basque Country, completed a PhD in the “Technologies for distributed information management” program in 2011 from the Public University of Navarra. While pursuing his PhD, he was an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Languages and Systems, a member of the Distributed Systems Group of the Public University of Navarra and conducted research at the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal) and the University of Lugano (Lugano, Switzerland).
After working for several private companies, he currently works as a researcher at the IKERLAN technology centre in the IoT and Digital Platforms team. His main interests include high availability systems, dynamic and adaptive distributed systems, machine learning, Wireless communications, testing and software analysis.
Igone Velez graduated with a degree in Automation and Industrial Electronics from the University of Navarra in 2000 and completed her PhD in 2005 at the University of Navarra. She joined CEIT in 2000, where she collaborated on various research projects and is currently the director of the Information and Communication Technologies division. Her main lines of research include digital signal processing and the design and implementation of electronic and Wireless communication devices for Industry 4.0.
In addition to her research, Igone Velez is a professor at the University of Navarra in the School of Engineering (Tecnun).
Jon Kepa Gerrikagoitia has a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Deusto and a PhD in Computer Science from Mondragón University. He is currently in charge of the TICA (ICT and Automation) research group at IDEKO, technology centre specialising in manufacturing technologies forming part of DANOBATGROUP. TICA incorporates the latest advances in ICTs, digital automation and data science in manufacturing and industrial production within the Industry 4.0 framework with the purpose of contributing to digitalisation of the industry from a machine-tool manufacturing point of view.
Aitor Arnaiz is head of Intelligent Information Systems at IK4-Tekniker, specialising in the application of predictive and prescriptive analysis technologies; semantic technologies and technologies for the development of IoT platforms in different sectors. His training includes a Masters in ‘Applied Artificial Intelligence’ (1991) and a PhD in ‘Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies to support automation of condition monitoring tasks’ (2009).
Josu Díaz de Arcaya joined TECNALIA in 2018, where he forms a part of the High Performance Architectures/ICT-Optima team. He specialises in the design, implementation and development of Big Data architecture as well as continuous integration and delivery of applications based on microservices. Before this, he spent almost two years at Ikerlan in the Big Data Architectures team, where he worked on maintenance and development of Big Data vertical solutions, from collecting and sending data to the cloud, to data processing and visualisation of solutions. From 2014 to 2017, he worked at IBM-UK, where he focused on the development of distributed applications oriented towards mass data storage as well as the optimisation of Big Data workflows in these types of solutions. From 2010 to 2011, he worked at CERN through UAM in a project aimed at the collection, storage and visualisation of data from the LHC. He graduated with a degree in Engineering from Mondragón University in 2009.
Juan López de Armentia Mendizabal has worked at Tecnalia since 2018, where he participates in Big Data projects, specifically in tasks related to visualisation techniques for large volumes of data aimed at efficient monitoring of analytical processes and based on time-series data. Previously, he worked as a researcher at IK4-Ikerlan for two years in the Big Data Architectures group. He completed his studies in Computer Engineering in 2008 at Mondragón University. Between 2009 and 2001, he worked at Tecnalia Research & Innovation and completed a Masters in Control, Automation and Robotics Engineering at the University of the Basque Country. In 2011, he joined DeustoTech-Deusto Institute of Technology Engineering Department at the University Deusto where he graduated with a PhD in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications in 2016.
Ana I. Torre-Bastida is a computer engineer from the University of Deusto and has a PhD in Computer Science from University of the Basque Country. She has worked at Tecnalia since 2011, currently serving as a technologist in High Performance Architectures platform in the Optima (ICT) area, mainly developing projects with clients in the energy, industrial and logistics sectors through the use of Big Data technologies (parallel computing, focusing on storage, transformation [ETL] and batch and real-time analysis/consulting) as well as Machine Learning techniques. Her research interests focus on delivering AI models in production environments through the use of Cloud and DevOps paradigms.
Ángel Conde, head of “Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence” Specialisation team at IKERLAN. This team works on Industry 4.0- related problems from a data point of view, from storage (digital platform) to later analysis and interpretation. PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of the Basque Country. He has been working since 2012 on problems related to Big Data and Artificial Intelligence on the Digital Platforms applied to different Industry 4.0 verticals.

He believes in the Democratisation of predictive models and the profound impact that these will have on the business world. He specialises (+8 years) in applying science to data in the wind energy and manufacturing sectors.
OSÉ MANUEL MARTÍN GARCÍA is a researcher in the Advanced Laser and Powder Metallurgy Manufacturing Group in the Materials and Manufacturing Division of CEIT-IK4 since 1999 and a Hired Ad Honorem professor at TECNUN (University of Navarra) since 2013. He completed a PhD in Industrial Engineering (2003) in the E.S.I. at the University of Navarra. He specialises in the Science and Engineering of Materials, conducting most of his work in the powder metallurgy field. He has worked on the production of metal powders through atomization since 2008. He has participated in 11 research projects with competitive public financing and in 14 financed by companies. He has published 13 articles in journals indexed in the Science Citation index and 36 in national and international conference publications in the field of Powder Metallurgy. He has been an advisor for 6 doctoral dissertations and 2 final projects. In the field of Powder Metallurgy, he has been a member of the Scientific Committee 9 times and the co-chairman of various national and international conferences 11 times.
Graduated with a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU in 1995 and a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU in 2001. Carlos Soriano Reyes has a degree in Physics from the University of Valencia. He also has a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Photonics, Fundamentals and Devices from the same University. Since 2007, he has worked as a researcher for the IK4-TEKNIKER technology centre, where he develops advanced manufacturing processes through laser technology. Before this, he worked for 6 years in the Laser Department at the Institute of Optics, Colour and Image of Valencia, participating in projects related to microstructure processes, cutting and welding with high power lasers. He has extensive experience coordinating research projects, mainly applied, related to the use of laser technology in the industry.
Haize Galarraga has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (2005) and in Materials Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA) (2016). Researcher with more than 10 years of experience in the technical-scientific development of national and international research projects in the area of manufacturing metal components as well as in technological services for companies.
He specialised in Additive Manufacturing while in the US, where he worked as a researcher in the “Integrative material design Center” of the WPI in collaboration with Oak Ridge National Labs and published several articles in prestigious scientific journals related to additive manufacturing in powder bed fusion (PBF) and directed energy deposition (DED). Within this area, he has spoken at international conferences, given courses and participated in round tables at conferences. Since 2018, he is the head of the additive manufacturing in the Industry and Transport Division at Tecnalia, where is coordinates the actions related to this field. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Addimat (Spanish Association of Additive Manufacturing Technologies).
Félix Martínez is currently the head of the Mechanical area at IKERLAN and directs Ikerlan’s line of research in the Advanced Manufacturing Unit. He is an Industrial Engineer (2004) and has a PhD in Mechanics (2004) from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes (France). His lines of research have always been linked to simulation, both by means of finite elements as well as multibody, oriented towards predicting load, stress state and fatigue of elements. He leads the Elkartek VIRTUAL project (Development of virtual models for predicting fatigue life and prognosis: capital goods) (2018)
Ion Iturbe has a degree in engineering and a PhD from the Grenoble Institute of Technology (France). He wrote his thesis (2006-2009) specialising on signal processing. Ion Iturbe is a researcher in the automation and control group at IK4-TEKNIKER. From 2010 to 2014, he focused on researching control of levitation systems with magnetic bearings, with applications in machining heads and flywheels for energy storage.
Since 2015, he participated in research and development projects for modelling, control and monitoring of power transmission systems. He leads the research at IK4-TEKNIKER associated with Virtual Commissioning for the ELKARTEK VIRTUAL project.
Eva Anglada is a senior researcher in the Foundry and Steelmaking department at TECNALIA. She has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Computational Engineering and Intelligent Systems (EHU/ UPV).
Her expertise focuses on the numerical simulation applied to processes related to heat transfer, computational fluid dynamic, thermo-mechanical analysis and metallurgy; correlation of models with experimental results; development of scientific software and predictive models, and optimisation, all applied primarily to the metal casting industry.
Completed a PhD in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Deusto in 2012; research project on the optimisation of productive processes through the use of machine learning. Previously, he developed his career for 8 years as a researcher and, finally, as head of operations in the DeustoTech Lab S3Lab – Laboratory for Smartness, Semantics and Security, leading and managing R +D projects at a local, regional and European level, related to Information Security, Artificial Intelligence and Optimisation of Productive Processes.
He was a professor at the University of Deusto for more than 6 years, teaching courses both in the regular Computer Science and Telecommunications degree as well as in University Masters’ programs on Information Security and Development and Integration of Software Solutions. Since 2015, he has been working as a researcher at Ik4-Azterlan, as Lead Researcher in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technological Solutions.
Jokin Rubio Botía is an Engineer from the University of the Basque Country and currently co-directs the Reliability and Maintenance 4.0 team at Tecnalia, which coordinates Tecnalia’s activities in this field, mainly those aimed at development new solutions for maintenance in the industrial sector, transport and energy assets under the umbrella of Industry 4.0.

From 2014 to 2017, as head of Engineering, Quality and the High Voltage Laboratory at the ABB Power Grid Transformer Production Centre in Bizkaia, he gained extensive experience in the design, manufacturing and life management of power transformers for main utilities and industrial clients, in both national and international markets.

José Ramón Rivero has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics from UPV/EHU. He has been working at BTI since 2006, primarily as Industrial Director and Head of Biomechanics R+D at Biotechnology Institute R+D and, since 2013, as Technical and Quality Director at Biotechnology Institute supervising manufacturing, import and distribution activities as well as product design and development.

Throughout his professional career, he has worked in both design studios and innovation consultancies developing new products and services for multiple consumer brands.
He is currently the CEO and founder of ENGIDI. His energies constantly revolve around the search for innovative ideas focused on the Internet of Things, always for the benefit of people in multiple applications and market verticals.
Juan Mocoroa has a degree in Technical Industrial Engineering: control of chemical processes from University of the Basque Country and degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Groningen (Netherlands).
Head of the Engineering Division – Mercedes Benz at the Vitoria Plant since January 2015. In charge of industrial design and manufacturing facilities and processes as well as general factory planning. Forms part of the management team of VANS Manufacturing Engineering Centre in Stuttgart (Germany).

Santiago Córdoba (Bilbo, 1979). Binary Soul SLren sortzaileetako bat eta CEOa da. Industriarako soluzio informatikoak garatzen dituen enpresa da Binary Soul SL, 2014. urtean sortua. Ingeniaritza Elektronikoan lizentziatu zen EHUn (2008), eta CET gradua du AEBko Digipen Teknologia Institutuan (2013). Ikasketak amaitu ondoren, ZIV konpainiaren P+C arloan aritu zen, fabrikazio-ingeniari gisa, ekipoen azken probak egiten (2009 – 2011). Digipen-en ikasketak amaituta, Binary Soul sortu zuen.
